Michael Lunn

Born in Bismarck, North Dakota, Michael began playing the guitar at age 12 and by age 15 was a steady fixture on the local band circuit spending most of his youth traveling around the Midwest playing clubs and other venues.

It wasn't long before his songwriting interests grew and in the summer of 1984 Michael decided to move to Nashville. It was shortly after his move that he was signed as a staff writer to Warner Bros. Music. It was at Warner Bros. Music where he had his first song recorded by Starship on their multi-platinum selling "No Protection" LP.
During his 16-year tenure at Warner/Chappell Music, Michael had songs recorded by such talented artists as Joe Cocker, Patty Smyth, The Doobie Brothers, Johnny Lang, Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special. Michael has co-written with such artists as Delbert McClinton, Johnny Van Zant, Peter Wolf, of the J Giels Band and Sheryl Crow.

In 1994, Michael decided to focus his songwriting more on the Nashville market and it wasn't long before his songs were being recorded by such artists as Brooks & Dunn, Deana Carter, Alabama, Sons Of The Desert, Sammy Kershaw, Tanya Tucker and Neil McCoy, Diamond Rio, as well as many others. His first number one record "This Woman And This Man" recorded by Clay Walker had the distinction of being one of Billboard Magazine's most performed songs. Most recently, Michael has had songs released by Billy Currington, Diamond Rio, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bernard Allison the Van Zants and others.
